About UMAs

The Urban Model Awards is a unique annual red carpet awards show that recognizes and celebrates the success of urban models in the industry. These models have graced the covers of, and have been featured in magazines, music videos, fashion shows, movies, TV shows, etc. The UMAs are the only awards ceremony that acknowledges the accomplishments and hard work that these beautiful women have put in the year before.

We also have categories for magazines, photographers, make-up artists and more, as they also play a major role in the success of these models.

After our very successful events in Washington, DC and Miami, FL, we have decided to move this year’s event back to the nation’s capitol, Washington, DC. The DMV area (DC, Maryland, Virginia) is the home of many of the models in the industry as well as celebrities, athletes, artists, etc. We have chosen the very popular Prince Ballroom to be the home this year for our event.

This year, the UMAs will hosted by Autumn Joi (VH1 Reality Star) & Prince Dajour (Former BET Host).

The DJ for this event is “Shadyville DJ” DJ GEMINI.

There will be also a SPECIAL LIVE PERFORMANCE by Konvict Muzik’s artist VERSE SIMMONDS, as well as Kenny Iko and more TBA!

The UMAs will once again have all the hottest, sexiest and most popular models in the game all in one place. All nominees competed head to head as the public voted on our site for each category. Saturday August 4th at The Prince Hall Ballroom in Washington DC all winners for each category will be announced at the show.

Also the sexy model/video vixen turned mogul Keyshia Dior with an Urban Model Mogul Award, as well as DJ Kay Slay of Straight Stuntin will be honored with the Urban Mogul Award. We will also be honoring the late great Chuck Brown (creator of Go-Go music) with the Urban Musical Legend Award.

There will also be a lot of celebrities and surprise guests.
